- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger.
- Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of all financial accounts, including bank statements, credit cards, and company transactions.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize Microsoft Dynamics - Business Central (ERP) to streamline financial processes, improve efficiency, and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports: Actuals against budget with initial variance and year end projection analysis including balance sheets and cash flow.
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimize financial resources and support business growth.
- Collaborate with department heads and senior management to develop financial strategies, assess risks, and make informed business decisions.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and internal controls.
- Management of accounts receivable procedures, customer invoices, scheduled recurring invoices, invoices related to agreements, etc.
- Management of all payment and acceptance methods: Cheques, e-transfers, direct deposits, etc.
- Prepare bank deposits.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports: Actuals against budget with initial variance and year end projection analysis including balance sheets and cash flow.
- Work closely with the CEO to manage 3rd party relationships as appropriate and other administrative matters including but not limited to insurance, service agreements, etc.
- CPA accreditation or former CMA/CGA designation
- 5 – 10 years' work experience as a Controller or related role.
- Hands-on experience with ERP System; MS Dynamics - Business Central.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and charts and using financial Excel functions).
- Exceptional understanding of accounting/bookkeeping procedures.
- Time-management and organization skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
