
2026 Winter - GRM, Risk Analyst - ALM Risk Intern (4 Months)

- Identify process bottlenecks in the generation of existing monthly and quarterly management reporting
- Establish a workflow including automation of data sources/transformations to streamline report production and improve timeliness of reporting
- Utilize the latest technologies available, designing and building data solutions to meet business and risk management needs
- Constantly seek out better ways to do things, via new tools, new technologies, new processes
- Promote analytics across the enterprise to enable RBC to become a data-driven organization
- Gain a broad-based understanding of Canada’s banking landscape including:
- Drivers of key financial metrics and profitability (EPS, CET1 ratio)
- Competitive differentiators (business model, geographic footprint) amongst RBC’s peers
- Currently enrolled at Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on business, finance, economics, mathematics, computer science
- Strong interest in banking and finance
- Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment
- Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
- Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced environment
- Broad exposure to market risk arising outside of trading portfolios and associated concepts
- Experience or understanding data visualization tools (Tableau) and databases (SQL and/or VBA)
- Programming skills in one or more languages (e.g. Python, R)
- Ability to data extract, transform, and load processes with a variety of data types
- Keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Work experience in a finance/banking/capital markets related field
- Relational database concepts and design experience
- Ability to learn and absorb new concepts (in business, systems, and risk management) quickly and apply new knowledge
- Familiarity with financial data platforms as Bloomberg, Morningstar etc.
- Working towards CFA or FRM designation would be an asset
