- Oversee OCS design and delivery for rail/transit projects
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, electrical, structural, etc.).
- Review and approve OCS designs, drawings, and specifications.
- Sign off of the project documents ( reports, drawings, calculations).
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and client requirements.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Attend project meetings and provide technical expertise.
- Allocate tasks and manage team resources for OCS-related work.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers.
- Implement QA/QC processes for OCS deliverables.
- Conduct design reviews and audits.
- Develop and monitor project schedules and budgets for OCS scope.
- Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Prepare technical reports, design documentation, and progress updates.
- Maintain project records and ensure proper documentation.
- Provide technical support during construction and commissioning.
- Resolve site issues related to OCS installation and integration.
- Stay updated with latest OCS technologies and best practices.
- Promote process improvements and innovation within the team.
- Project Management responsibilities for the OCS projects.
- Maintain and record actions and due dates to ensure deliverables are aligned with Project Schedule.
- Keep track of the deliverables and invoices.
- Create monthly reporting presentation to leadership team on project status.
- Track and manage financial health of the project.
- A university engineering degree or equivalent qualification, such as a degree in mechanical engineering, structural engineering.
- At least 10 years of railway experience in the OCS design.
- Experience as an OCS Engineer in the design phase, with the ability to analyze and comment on designs, providing expert consultancy during feasibility, preliminary, detailed design, and assessment of constructability.
- Commissioning supervision experience is advantageous.
- Proficiency in software used for OCS design, such as Microstation and AutoCAD.
- Preference for main line/heavy rail experience; experience on a high-speed rail project is advantageous.
- Fluency in English and excellent communication skills.
- Previous Experience in major mainline, subway and LRT projects is an asset.
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills with a proven ability to guide multidisciplinary teams and drive digital innovation.
- P. Eng. Certification in Ontario.
- PMP certification will be an asset.
