Our client, a major oil and gas company, is seeking a Safety and Compliance Coordinator to promote a proactive frontline driven safety culture through communication and continuous improvement. The Safety and Compliance Coordinator will have the opportunity to demonstrate their previous expertise in safety, operations and/or maintenance to join the Health and Safety team in a role that will partner with the operational leadership and provide support and guidance for Oil Sands value streams. This is a fly in/out position from Edmonton or Calgary on an 8/6 schedule.Key Accountabilities:

Steward and promote implementing and utilizing the client's Safety Management System
Promote and ensure consistency of hygiene, safety systems and radiation program controls for Oil Sands
Review incident reports, provide feedback and conduct necessary investigations as required
Attend area safety meetings, pre job safety meetings and conduct periodic inspections to promote a safe working environment in all field areas
Conduct safety and compliance inspections of facilities, and Worksite Safety Observations of service providers, consultants and operations

Skills & Qualifications:

Typically, 5+ years of safety experience with Grade 12
Consideration given to candidates with post-secondary safety education and/or professional safety designation
Knowledge of the applicable Government regulations
Previous experience within the Oil & Gas industry is an asset
