- Minimum 10 years of progressive engineering experience in design for major rail and transit projects, preferably within Canada.
- Strong understanding of traction power design is required. Preferably with experience in both Light and Heavy rail.
- Hands-on experience with traction substation design for AC (25 kV) and DC (1.5 kV or 750 V) electrification systems
- Demonstratable experience with traction power simulation and load flow tools
- Experience with rail potential, stray current and earthing systems for electrified railway environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; Master’s degree is an asset.
- P.Eng. license in Ontario is required.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian railway design standards and regulations, Transport Canada Railway Safety Act, CSA standards, AREMA and Metrolinx/GO Technical standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Exposure to alternate project delivery models including AFP. Design-Build-Finance, Alliance or P3 structures is an asset.
