Job DescriptionOur organization is looking for an experienced Engineering Supervisor to lead and support a team of engineering professionals in the design and delivery of fire protection systems. This role plays a key part in ensuring technical excellence, project efficiency, and compliance with applicable codes and standards. Your main responsibilities will be to :
  • Manage a team of designers while providing supervision and guidance.
  • Identify requirements regulating the design and installation of fire suppression systems.
  • Act as Lead Engineer, overseeing the design and technical delivery of building mechanical fire protection systems across projects of varying complexity.
  • Plan, schedule, and organize all design phases of the project.
  • Collaborate with the fire protection design team to produce and review design drawings, hydraulic calculations, technical specifications, and cost estimates in accordance with NFPA standards and applicable codes.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of internal standards, design guidelines, and specifications for the fire protection engineering group.
  • Complete site surveys and plan reviews.
  • Follow-up on budgets, deadlines and schedule for projects.
SUCCESS FACTORS
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical Engineering, or College diploma in fire protection or building mechanics, or civil engineering.
  • 5+ years of fire protection engineering and design experience.
  • Experience applying required codes and standards.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, FM requirements and other fire protection methodologies.
  • Proficiency in computer-assisted design with AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of HydraCAD (an asset).
