Our client, based in Montreal, is seeking a highly motivated HR Data Lake Business Analyst to join their team on a renewable contract basis for a long-term project, with a requirement to be in the office three days a week. Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with HR Analytics stakeholders to understand their challenges, rapidly create mockup datasets for self-service access using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) in an Agile environment.
  • Partner with HR stakeholders to gather and refine requirements, balancing business needs with technical implementation strategies.
  • Liaise with the Data Engineering team to develop secure, persona-specific datasets.
  • Communicate development and design strategies clearly to all involved parties.
  • Take full ownership of sprint stories, navigating stakeholder engagement and fostering the development of innovative solutions.
  • Oversee user testing, including creating and implementing test plans and scripts, managing defect logs, and resolving issues.
  • Identify and mitigate key risks, troubleshoot problems to resolution, and recommend improvements.
  • Propose and ensure the implementation of strategic end-to-end solutions that meet business objectives and are within scope.
Candidate Profile:
  • Holds at least a BSc degree.
  • Brings a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrates strong capabilities in data modeling, wrangling, and visualization with tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik.
  • Has a thorough understanding of SQL databases and ETL technologies.
  • Is knowledgeable about data lake technologies, including Snowflake.
  • Understands security models and concepts, including row-level security.
  • Is proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Preferably has experience with Workday recruiting.
  • Exhibits a critical thinking mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced sprints.
  • Is a team player with a collaborative spirit.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, and is a proactive self-starter.
