The primary work location will be remote with the opportunity to work out of our Dexterra Group corporate office 1-2 days a week.
  • Hybrid or remote; preference for candidates in proximity to a Dexterra office (e.g., Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Thunder Bay, etc.)
  • Standard 40 hour weekdays
  • Minimal travel, unless participating in optional site visits or internal events
  • Adheres to Dexterra safety protocols and workplace conduct standards
WHAT'S THE JOB?
  • Reporting to the Manager of Sustainability and ESG, the Sustainability Coordinator CO-OP will support Dexterra Group's sustainability teams in advancing environmental sustainability projects across the organization.
  • This internship contributes to Dexterra's sustainability goals by assisting in data collection, project coordination, and reporting related to sustainability initiatives.
  • The role will support program implementation, track progress toward goals, and contribute to company-wide engagement on environmental topics.
  • Ideal candidates are self-starters passionate about sustainability, with strong organizational and communication skills.
Specific Abilities:Sustainability Program Support
  • Assist in coordinating corporate sustainability initiatives, including energy reduction, waste diversion, and sustainable procurement.
  • Research and recommend best practices relevant to Dexterra's service lines and operational realities.
Data Collection & Reporting
  • Support tracking and analysis of sustainability metrics (e.g., GHG emissions, waste streams).
  • Contribute to drafting internal reports and dashboards to measure impact and progress toward ESG targets.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Assist in preparing awareness and education materials for internal sustainability campaigns.
  • Help coordinate meetings, webinars, and workshops to share sustainability practices across the organization.
Administrative & Project Support
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the ESG team.
  • Support documentation and file management of sustainability plans, reports, and communications.
QualificationsWHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
  • Must be a college or university student
  • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a post-secondary program in Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Business, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in corporate sustainability, ESG reporting, and climate action.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and remote/hybrid environment.
