- Plan and execute elements of the valuation processes and provide insightful valuation analysis to proactively identify material quarterly valuation movements.
- Work closely with Investment professionals worldwide to execute on the valuation process and onboard new deals as well as cross-functionally with other departments to ensure alignment with our vision, goals, and values.
- Manage external valuation process with advisors and auditors.
- Prepare detailed valuation reports and valuation highlights for inclusion in communication with deal teams, Valuation Committee, Audit Committee, and other board level reporting.
- Independently build and review complex financial models, assess, challenge, and test sensitivities.
- Stratify and analyze large data sets to identify historical performance trends, detect correlations, identify key value drivers, and perform calibration.
- Monitor global market events and quickly design valuation sensitivities and tests to assess the impact on a macro-basis.
- Conduct independent, thorough reviews and quality assurance checks on valuation work products to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established methodologies and best practices.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging valuation methodologies, and best practices; identify areas for improvement and implement them in the valuation processes/frameworks.
- Provide mentorship for junior colleagues within the group.
- Undergraduate degree or college diploma in related field (i.e., Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, etc.)
- 6+ years of relevant experience in professional valuation services firms, pension funds, private equity and/or investment banking
- Completion or near completion of at least one relevant professional designation (CPA, CFA, CBV, etc.).
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Advanced experience with tools such as Tableau, VBA, Python, SQL an asset
- Advanced understanding of key valuation standards and methodologies with excellent research financial modelling, analytical and valuation skills
- Team player with ability to deliver in a high-performance culture operating under time-sensitive deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with high degree of professionalism and ability to present ideas in a clear and concise manner
