- Work in Sub-Foreman role planning daily activities, assess hazards, ensure hazards are eliminated and/or controlled and communicated to all workers on site
- Read prints for site layouts, and various structure types including but not limited to wood
- Repair, remove and replace distribution structures on both energized and de-energized lines
- Slack/tension string overhead conductor, sets poles, and anchors
- Frequently work with energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of themselves and others
- Understand and develop grounding procedures and install and remove grounding safely on de-energized circuits
- Properly inspect and maintain live line tools and equipment for daily work activities
- Properly install line switches, in-line floaters, in-line disconnects and modify switches as necessary
- Assisting with continuous improvement projects and other operational tasks as required
- Journeyman Powerline Technician Trade Certificate, is required
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the powerline trade, is required
- Strong knowledge of Distribution construction systems, strongly preferred
- Class 5 Driver's License, is required. Class 1 or Class 3 preferred
- English proficiency with the ability to read, comprehend, and execute written work plans, blueprints, and writing schematics
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to direct a team to efficiently and effectively complete jobs within deadlines
- Able and willing to work at various heights and climb various structures
- Able and willing to work on energized distribution systems 0-25KV
- Able and willing to accommodate frequent overtime hours and weekend hours when required
- Able and willing to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions and environments inclusive of heavy lifting
- Able and willing to provide an acceptable five (5) year Driver's Abstract
