- Interfaces with clients and successfully delivers engineering products in accordance with customer specifications and requirements.
- Establishes the technical approach to achieve project requirements and ensures the design satisfies these requirements.
- Manages the design process and product configuration in accordance with approved procedures.
- Ensures that final deliverables meet customer requirements and align with nuclear codes and standards.
- Approves technical documents prepared by staff.
- Removes barriers that would impact deliverables, working with staff to find solutions and optimizations.
- Ensures work is conducted in accordance with Engineering and Quality Assurance procedures.
- Ensures design work is executed effectively and reviewed for adequacy.
- Supports initiatives and projects for growth and modernization of CFS capabilities, aligning with long-term OEM strategies.
- Fosters a team environment and team building.
- Forecasts resource demands, including skills and durations.
- Defines team structure and reporting relationships.
- Ensures training and qualification records are up to date.
- Performs recruiting and disciplinary functions.
- Aligns and balances resources across projects to broaden junior staff experience.
- Ensures mentorship of junior engineering staff.
- Provides performance feedback, recognition, and disciplinary action when required.
- Plans and executes work consistent with quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Professional Engineering License in Ontario.
- University degree in engineering or science.
- 10+ years progressive nuclear experience.
- Experience working in Canadian licensed nuclear facilities.
- Expertise in nuclear tooling design and inspection.
- Strong leadership, communication, and client focus.
- Willingness to travel to project sites.
