Remote Flexibility: Hybrid Remote FlexibilityOur ClientOur client is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support lawyers in a busy Labour and Employment practice. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of labour board procedures and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDraft, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents and correspondencePerform transcription and ensure compliance with legal procedures and tribunal rulesPrepare and coordinate service and filing of materials before boards and administrative tribunals, including the Ontario Labour Relations Board, Grievance Settlement Board, and Human Rights Tribunal of OntarioMaintain organized filing and tickler systems, including confidential recordsManage file openings and closures, including storage coordinationHandle routine correspondence and follow-ups as requiredCoordinate meetings, hearings, arbitrations, and tribunal appearancesMaintain lawyers’ calendars, deadlines, limitation periods, and key datesReview incoming communications and diarize critical datesEnter daily dockets and assist with billing, pre-bills, WIP, and file status reportsPrepare invoices and expense reports in accordance with firm policiesArrange travel accommodations as neededProvide overflow support to other lawyers when requiredRequirements3–5 years of legal assistant experience, preferably in Labour & Employment LawStrong understanding of labour board procedures and limitation periodsLegal administration training or equivalent experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skills with strong proofreading abilityProfessional, client-focused demeanor with the ability to manage confidential informationHighly organized with strong multitasking and deadline management skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentKeyboarding speed of 55+ wpmProficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe ProExperience with document management and billing systems (e.g., NetDocuments, Soluno, Tikit) considered an assetHOW TO APPLYKindly forward your resume to and quote Job #17011 in the subject line.We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
