- Prepare interpretation and analysis of business results, financial modeling and forecasting for business partners.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partners to ensure understanding of the business and business drivers. Provide analysis that is relevant and actionable.
- Liaise with business partners, providing advisory services for annual budget planning and business case preparation.
- Analyze weekly and periodic reports to ensure that they meet clients' needs.
- Maintain and enhance driver-based planning to assist management team in decision making. Foster an active and ongoing dialog with the strategic business unit leaders to identify and reinforce the business drivers.
- Develop and maintain index of economic and pre-warning indicators. Link indicators to business drivers to assist in planning & forecast modeling.
- Lead the team to be the middle-office of AEF, responsible for proactively developing the required performance reporting across AEF business units.
- Manage a team of business analysts to deliver critical insights and improvement ideas to AEF and its key business units.
- Proactively lead AEF annual operating plan discussions and monthly forecast discussions with strategic business unit leaders to assess and forecast short-to-medium term business financial plans.
- Provide leadership and create positive working relationships to develop an effective Help environment.
- Effectively manages staff, developing talent and succession planning within AEF operation analysis team.
- Key contributor to AEF senior management team. Required to develop ideas and participate in discussion on tactics and strategies for achieving AEF's 3-5 year strategy.
- Challenges the business orthodoxy by using objective analysis and measures to arrive at business recommendations to improve the performance of AEF.
- Accountable for developing own and others' performance through building a personal brand of accessibility, listening and positively influencing others to achieve results.
- Ongoing professional development, keeping up to date on industry, market, systems and competitive trends.
- Collaborate with key departments (i.e. EA, Treasury, Finance) to enhance financial planning and business case analysis.
- Bachelor's Degree or a diploma requiring 3 - 4 years of full-time study.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Quantitative Methods or a similar discipline. CPA, CFA, or Masters in Business/Economics, Statistics are considered assets.
- Minimum 7 - 9 Years of Job Related Experience
- Experience in financial, operational and business performance, reporting to senior executive. Experience in managing a team would be an asset.
- Ability to use Microsoft Suite of Products at a working level
- Ability to leverage technology solutionsWorking knowledge of general accounting principles.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with working knowledge of pivot tables, lookup formulas, multiple conditional formulas, developing forecast models etc...
- Ability to effectively motivate and supervise employees and meeting objectives through coaching, training and providing intellectual support.
- Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to develop positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, for effective and professional internal and external communication.
