- Degree in Physiotherapy. Current full registration as a Physiotherapist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
- Four (4) years' recent related health care experience in the specific area of client focus including two (2) years’ experience teaching students.
- One (1) year experience in a leadership/supervisory role and completion of a professional instructional program for teaching, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Eligible for appointment as a Clinical Instructor at a recognized educational institution.
- Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice related to the program’s intended population.
- Comprehensive knowledge of adult education principles, methods and tools.
- Broad knowledge of physical therapy theory and practice within a client centred model of care, including knowledge of self-management skills.
- Broad knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client care.
- Broad knowledge of the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC standards of practice and guidelines for clinical practitioners.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective consultation with students and an interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated understanding of Trauma Informed Practice, EDI, Harm Reduction and Recovery Oriented
- Demonstrated ability to provide competent and culturally safety care in a variety of settings and with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated ability to function as a team member, leader, motivator and facilitator.
- Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and promote teamwork.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with students, other health care staff, clients and their families, both one-on-one and in groups.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.
- Demonstrated ability to develop educational programs and materials.
- Broad knowledge of research process and methodology.
- Demonstrated ability to make public/professional presentations.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Computer literacy with word processing, spreadsheet and database skills.
