- Ensure staff members are properly trained and retrained according to training guides and procedures
- Develop employees through coaching, goal-setting conducting performance reviews; assist supervisors with mentorship activities
- Initiate and implement programs and procedures required to ensure DC safety and cleanliness in all zones
- Initiate and manage controls with regards to process flow in the Outbound Department; analyze outbound volumes to all locations to ensure efficient loading and picking frequency to maximize efficiency
- Ensure all equipment is in good order and ensure employees perform pre-shift checks
- Maintain labour budget and cost per unit; plan and schedule labour on a daily basis and assist in annual labour budget process
- Manage the store shipping schedule including planning for seasonal changes; communicate and liaise with stores for any and all changes to the schedule that are required
- Prepare reports, analyze data and make recommendations for improving DC Outbound Reporting
- Promote employee involvement in employee relations and safety committees
- Train and develop supervisors, identifying and mentoring high potential candidates
- Ensure all loads are picked and shipped accurately and damage-free within set time schedules
- Maintain Outbound accuracy at 97% minimum and conduct reviews with inventory team
- Ensure compliance with all Brick Group policies and procedures
- Achieve departmental goals through effective staff management
- High school diploma or equivalent; post secondary education an asset
- Minimum 4 years management experience in a diverse warehouse environment, preferably retail; Significant experience using a large Warehouse Management System (WMS) in an inventory controlled environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Working knowledge of materials handling equipment and safe material handling techniques
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
