BHP's CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan's history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for mid-2027. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. The work schedule for this role will be seven days on, seven days off.As this role is not eligible for accommodation in the site camp, the incumbent must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Jansen site. BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip and a relocation allowance.PurposeReporting to the Surface Production Supervisor, the Operator applies expertise to meet the production schedule, by controlling and monitoring mill equipment. In this role, you will apply technical skills to solve problems and deliver for the customer.About the RoleIn this role, you will:
  • Provide on-site operation of the mill processing equipment to optimise Potash operations.
  • Follow direction and guidance from the mill shift supervisor and IOC mill controller.
  • Perform all tasks maintaining a strong safety attitude.
  • Identify actual or potential maintenance/operational problems and take appropriate action.
  • Respond to emergency situations using standards defined for potash operation.
  • Conduct a detailed handover with the incoming mill operator to ensure that all process and plant conditions are known and understood.
About You
  • Previous processing plant/mill experience
  • Grade 12 Diploma or GED Equivalency.
