Salary: $37.93 - $54.37 per hour. Start rate non-negotiable.
Status: Temporary Full Time (Approx. 2 years)
Shifts: Variable 24/7; On-Call as needed

  • Applying knowledge of nursing science, theory, skill and critical decision making in the provision of compassionate, collaborative and competent care in accordance with the UHN Professional Practice Model for Nursing and the mission and vision of nursing at the UHN
  • Ensuring practice is consistent with professional standards and the ethical framework as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and the UHN policy and procedure
  • Demonstrating commitment to professional life long learning by participating in continuing education activities to meet the needs of the patient population served and the standards of the profession
  • Performing reflective practice, analyzing and evaluating nursing knowledge and modifying practice accordingly to improve the quality of nursing and patient care.
  • Performing cross-functional and other responsibilities, as assigned and/or requested
Qualifications
  • Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) certification
  • ACLS certification, preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years recent acute care experience (e.g., Intensive Care, Emergency, Acute Care/Step-down, Cath lab, Operating Room) nursing experience
  • Previous Interventional Radiology experience, preferred
  • Completion and Certification in Bedside PICC insertions, preferred
  • Completion of a recognized Critical Care certificate
  • Venipuncture and I.V. insertion skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and decision making, organizational and time management skills
  • Must be flexible and possess the ability to work effectively and efficiently within a variety of patient care teams
  • Demonstrated evidence of on-going education in nursing
  • Must be able to work wearing lead apron/vest all day
  • Must be able to respond to on-call notifications (arrive at the hospital) within 1 hour maximum
