Closing Date: Until FilledPosition SummaryAs an integral member of the Joint Department of Medical Imaging team you will perform various Imaging procedures at University Health Network with an opportunity to be trained in Interventional Radiology. The department features state-of-the-art digital technology and a team of innovative staff dedicated to patient care and superb image quality, backed by a commitment to continuing education and quality assurance program initiatives. The Technologist will report to the Interventional Radiology Operations Lead and adhere to respective institutional policies and procedures.Duties
- Performs Interventional Radiology procedures in the IR Department using advanced digital equipment, and digital quality assurance
- Communicates with team members and management personnel, participates in professional development, teaching and educational activities, and mentoring
- Performs cross-functional/site responsibilities as assigned, including working call or overtime, and evening, weekend
- Perform strong inter-professional and collaborative approach to practice.
- Showcase judgement to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team
- Work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast paced, high patient volume setting, especially how to accommodate unexpected situations
- Certification by the CAMRT
- Current registration with the CMRITO and fulfilling the annual required continuing education as per CMRITO
- Live within 60 minutes of hospital
- Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification, with maintenance of certification
- 2 to 3 years General Radiography experience
- Ability to demonstrate sensitivity towards patients in a challenging situation.
- Demonstrates strong inter-professional and collaborative approach to practice.
- Demonstrates good judgement to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team
- Ability to work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast paced, high patient volume setting, especially how to accommodate unexpected situations.
- Demonstrates strong technical skills and image quality
- Effective time management skills, ability to organize work, and set priorities.
- Effective computer skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills including through formal clinical documentation
- Awareness of hospital emergency codes and procedures, required
- Ability to work variable shifts and take on-call assignments.
- Current membership with the CAMRT
- Previous CT experience, an asset
- Currently enrolled in or completion of the CAMRT Interventional Radiology Specialty certificate program, an asset
