- Supervise daily accounts payable settlements, ensuring the prompt and accurate processing of global payments using Workday (Source: RH Acronym Guide).
- Manage invoice reviews, maintaining compliance with tax laws, internal policies, and banking deadlines.
- Handle urgent and rush payment requests professionally and expediently.
- Lead the AP team by assigning tasks, conducting team huddles, providing coaching, and evaluating performance against KPIs (key performance indicators).
- Resolve payment inquiries from internal and external stakeholders and address ServiceNow ticket resolution.
- Update and maintain standard operating procedures and payment checklists for seamless operations.
- Identify process improvements by reviewing systems and workflows for gaps and collaborating with stakeholders to implement enhancements.
- Act as the primary operational banking contact for African branches and liaise with the Treasury Operations team in Canada.
- Ensure compliance with AP policies and maintain supplier master data integrity.
- A degree in Accounting with CPA designation or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years of Accounts Payable experience, including demonstrated supervisory expertise in high-volume, complex settings.
- Deep understanding of payment processes, financial controls, and compliance requirements.
- Proven leadership ability to manage and develop high-performing teams within dynamic and cross-cultural environments.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and time zones.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized professional, comfortable working under pressure with strict accuracy standards.
- Proficiency in using financial systems such as Workday, SharePoint, and banking portals, with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrates professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and alignment with organizational values.
