Nature & Scope → Your Role at RootsThe Accounts Payable Supervisor will lead a centralized corporate Accounts Payable team to ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers and vendors. This role focuses on actively managing and participating in the accounts payable process, supervising the training and development of a team of Accounts Payable Specialists and being responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and reconciling accounts. This role will report to the Corporate Controller.Key Responsibilities → How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Leadership of all AP matters and direct participation in the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function
  • Ensure payment complies with vendor contract terms
  • Must communicate & follow up effectively with all vendors and employees on a timely basis
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the members of the accounts payable team.
  • Work with departmental managers to obtain approval in a timely manner
  • Prepare monthly AP accrual’s JE for month end closing
  • Participates in monthly close activities & performs month end reconciliation & AP aging report
  • Manages the timely and accurate processing of accounts payable using EFT, Credit Card and wire payment method
  • Develop, implement and improve policies and department controls to increase accuracy and efficiency
  • Assist with annual audit package
  • Train and develop team of AP professionals, including setting department goals and conducting performance evaluations
Qualifications & Experience → The Skills You Bring
  • Undergraduate degree with major in Accounting, preferred
  • Minimum five years of accounts payable management experience in high volume transactions
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to details
  • Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, train and evaluate work results
  • Able to interact effectively at all levels of the organization and with external partners
  • An understanding of how his/her work contributes to the broader organizational objectives
  • Prioritization of one’s work while taking accountability for delivering on both personal and shared commitments
  • Initiative and urgency, even in the absence of assigned deadlines
