Our client in the waste and recycling industry is seeking a permanent, full-time Parts and Inventory Coordinator for night shifts to support their Fleet Maintenance operations. This position is integral in ensuring that their fleet is operating at top capacity, making sure parts and inventory are aligned with business needs.Job Title: Parts and Inventory Coordinator (Evening Shift)
Location: Coquitlam, BC
Pay Range: $65k to $75k per yearWhat's the Job?
  • Receive, label, barcode, inventory, and issue parts to mechanics, ensuring accurate recordkeeping.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels for critical fleet components to prevent shortages and overstocking.
  • Obtain and review vendor quotes; verify pricing accuracy on packing slips, invoices, and purchase orders.
  • Pick up parts from suppliers as required to support urgent maintenance needs.
  • Review “dirty post-trip” reports, create corresponding work orders, and order required parts.
  • Track down-truck lists and monitor CVI and PM schedules to support preventative maintenance planning.
  • Process returns or exchanges for incorrect or defective parts.
  • Perform ongoing cycle counts between quarterly inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety of the parts room in compliance with WHMIS and company safety standards.
  • Prepare and communicate a summary of completed night shift work orders to the day shift team to ensure operational continuity.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize parts needs and reduce vehicle downtime.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support shop and operational requirements.
What's Needed?
  • Experience in an Automotive/Transport industry is an asset.
  • Must have valid class 5 driver's license and suitable abstract
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Outlook and Microsoft Office computer skills.
  • Must be able to lift over 70 lbs.
  • Must be physically fit.
  • It is necessary to be prepared for exposure to noise such as is common in trucking and shop environments.
