- Supports the development, implementation and maintenance of the HSE management system that is aligned but not limited to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Support internal and external ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 audits and action findings for management system improvement opportunities as necessary.
- Assist with the Avetta red flag process.
- JHSC management program /compliance tracking and review legislation and ensure matrix is up to date.
- Review and update HSE standards, policies etc. to ensure regulatory changes are captured and documentation remains relevant (e.g. project dust buster).
- Provide oversight for regulatory requirements pertaining to Halocarbon Management for client sites (ODP tags).
- Manage the processing, tracking, and reporting of accident and incident data (e.g. total reportable injury rate, lost time injury rate, Near Miss and Hazards Observations etc.) including classification of injuries per OSHA standard.
- Assist HSE leads with accident/incident reporting requirements to ensure all required data, forms etc. are documented and completed as required.
- Compile accident and incident data for monthly HSE performance reports.
- Manage and issues WCB clearance certificates.
- Manage toolbox talk tracking program for Canada and US.
- Performs gap analysis where appropriate to ensure reporting across multiple platforms is accurate and consistent.
- Manage and ensures Department Intrazone site is updated and available in both English and French.
- Creates and maintains topic specific Intrazone pages as needed (e.g., NIOSH Week communications etc.)
- Manage the technical standards source application. (e.g TechStreet users and subscriptions).
- Assists in the development and distribution of HSE communication to internal team members.
- Support the development and execution of HSE training programs as required.
- Certification in one or more of the following - Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, Certificate in Environmental Management through a College or University degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences is preferred.
- Knowledge of health, safety and environment regulatory requirements in Canada and/or US at a federal and/or provincial/state level
- Knowledge of health, safety and environment management systems - ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Strong verbal, written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office especially with Excel and SharePoint (e.g. pivot tables, macros, etc.)
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to deliver health, safety and environment-related training.
- Ability to investigate and resolve health, safety and environment incidents, conduct root cause analysis skills along with preventative and corrective measure implementation.
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional from Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals or
- Certified Health & Safety Consultant from Canadian Society of Safety Engineering or
- Certified Environmental Professional (EP or CEP)
