- Developing and reviewing electrical and electronic system technical documentation including equipment specifications, installation and maintenance job instructions.
- Conducting technical investigations into problems associated with electrical system, equipment and/or software issues, including root cause analyses, risk assessments and solution development.
- Preparing documented work scopes associated with Defect investigation/resolution, suitable for the solicitation of quotations from external resources such as OEMs, manufacturers, suppliers, testing facilities or specialist service providers.
- Developing and/or approving technical Work Instructions.
- Coordinat with other Thales staff (Mechanical, Combat Systems, Hull Engineering and Naval Architecture staff) and/or Subcontractors to achieve the agreed outcomes within the delegated authorities and responsibilities.
- Analyzing requirements associated with baseline changes to the ships configuration, equipment and software.
- Conducting electrical load design calculations.
- Support Engineering Team for Engineering Change process.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in Nova Scotia, Canada.
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated professional marine work experience within the last 10 years.
- 8 years of demonstrated professional marine work experience within the last 15 years.
- Previous experience with the Royal Canadian Navy or Canadian Coast Guard.
- Experience in delivering marine in-service support of operational assets.
- Experience working with a defense contract.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Familiar with project management tools such as Jira.
- Language: French (Desirable as a first or second language, with English second or first).
- Schedule: 40 hours per week.
- Work Location: Hybrid: Will be required to work from the Thales office or the dockyard (about 80% of the time) and home (about 20%).
- Travel: Occasional domestic or international travel may be required in support of the ships.
