As our Senior Director, Government & Stakeholder Relations, you will lead all government relations and stakeholder outreach activities for the Commercial Operations (CO) segment, including BWXT Canada Ltd., BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. (NEC), Intech International Inc., BWXT Precision Manufacturing, and BWXT Medical Ltd. (BML). You will establish engagement strategies that clearly convey BWXT's pivotal role in nuclear power to government entities, industry associations, and Indigenous communities. Reporting to the Senior Vice President & Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, with a dotted-line to the President, Commercial Operations, this role has no direct reports but works closely with senior leaders across BWXT. You will also engage with government officials, Indigenous leaders, regulators, industry associations, and community stakeholders, providing strategic guidance to the executive team, aligning messaging across internal functions, and representing BWXT in policy discussions and negotiations to advance corporate priorities and strengthen stakeholder relationships.Location:BWXT Canada is located in Cambridge, Ontario. However, this position is remote, with the ability to work from home, with travel as required.This position requires the ability to travel frequently across canada for in person engagements with government officials and industry stakeholdersYour Day to Day as a Senior Director Government & Stakeholder Relations:Lead government relations and stakeholder outreach activities across BWXT’s Commercial Operations segment. * Develop and implement strategic engagement plans to strengthen BWXT’s presence with government, Indigenous communities, regulators, industry associations, and community stakeholders.Monitor, analyze, and influence federal and provincial energy and nuclear policy; represent BWXT on legislative committees and industry advisory groups.Serve as the primary contact with regulatory agencies, trade associations, advocacy groups, and community stakeholders to promote BWXT’s positions and interests.Lead Indigenous engagement efforts, including oversight of BWXT’s Indigenous Relations Roadmap, advancing reconciliation initiatives, and ensuring transparent communication with Indigenous communities near BWXT operations.Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on government policy, Indigenous relations, and stakeholder engagement matters.Oversee budgets, compliance with lobbying regulations, and reporting on engagement activities.Collaborate with Corporate Affairs, Communications, Licensing, and Environment, Health & Safety teams to ensure consistent messaging, brand alignment, and effective engagement strategies.Chair and participate in community liaison committees, enhancing public relations and supporting BWXT’s business growth goals.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in government relations with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.Experience in the nuclear energy sector preferred OR experience in energy/utilities, finance and banking, aerospace or transportation (air or rail)Proven ability to interpret and influence public policy, legislation, and regulatory frameworks at the provincial and federal levels. * Past experience working with Ministers and their teams at Queens Park and/or on Parliament Hill.Strong understanding of Indigenous engagement and reconciliation practices, with demonstrated success in building long-term partnerships with Indigenous communities.Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to influence and represent the organization effectively in complex environments.Established relationships within government, industry associations, and Indigenous organizations considered an assetWHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU: Ensuring the well-being of our employees is our priority and we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits for our employees and their families.
