
Actuarial Assistant, UL Valuation

- Contribute to developing and maintaining comprehensive and reliable actuarial models
- Ensure clear and concise communication to team and manager
- Assist in the preparation of reports for financial and capital reporting
- Assist in the preparation of actuarial studies and presenting results
- Become thoroughly familiar with AXIS, Excel, and other relevant tools
- Become familiar with the IFRS 17 accounting and LICAT capital processes
- Build subject matter expertise in the assigned line of business (understand valuation, capital, business drivers, drivers of earnings/core earnings, etc.)
- Provide insight to assist with streamlining the valuation and capital infrastructure
- University degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related area
- Progressing towards attainment of Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)
- Experience in insurance and actuarial work would be an asset
- Excellent quantitative and data analysis skills
- Strong knowledge of Excel. Experience in AXIS and programming tools (e.g. SQL, Python, R) would be an asset
- Good written and verbal business communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively to deliver on organizational goals
