- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Oversee bookkeeping for multiple entities and assist/coordinate with external accountants for year-end financial statement and tax return preparations
- Manage payroll, accounts payable process and vendor payments
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all inter-company transactions and distributions are accurately recorded
- Support Controller in liaising with banking and brokerage representatives
- Monitor capital calls and distributions, execute and track wire transfers for investments and property acquisitions
- Liaise with external investment advisors and banks to ensure reporting integrity
- Monitor daily cash balances across multiple bank accounts to ensure adequate liquidity
- Manage family credit card programs, including limit increases, fraud monitoring, and expense categorization
- Coordinate with external accounting firms for the preparation of individual, trust, partnership, and foundation tax returns
- Assist in estate planning execution
- Proven experience in accounting or financial management roles, ideally as an assistant controller.
- CPA designation (CGA, CA, or CPA)
- 5+ years in accounting or office management, preferably within a family office, boutique law firm, or wealth management environment
- You must be able to communicate complex financial data to family members with varying degrees of financial knowledge and background
- Experience in small office environments with the “lean team” mentality with initiatives and ability to bridge the gap between high-level strategy and administrative execution
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members.
