Reporting initially to the Microbulk Operations Manager II and, eventually, to PAG Operations Director, the incumbent is responsible for all Linde Canada Inc. microbulk operations within the province of Quebec. The goal of this position is to ensure maximization of profits, efficiency in operations, customer service and compliance throughout the region, as well as for the safe and continued operation of the Linde equipment located at Customer’s locations throughout region while keeping constant communication with sales team.Key Accountabilities
- Managing and monitoring operational costs and controls.
- Ensuring safety and compliance standards are being met by all drivers, service technicians and facilities.
- Directly overseeing transportation and equipment maintenance facilities in multiple locations throughout the province of Quebec.
- Acting as the primary local Interface with the Montreal union and actively participating in collective bargaining discussions.
- Managing unionized and non-unionized transportation and customer service (equipment installations / removals) employees.
- Primary interface with Linde’s third-party carriers and third-party service providers. Specifically, ensuring that the third-party suppliers meet all of Linde safety and compliance requirements.
- Productivity and budget responsibilities, ex. setting budgetary goals and presenting to senior leadership.
- Playing lead role in all accident / incident / injury analysis with Linde equipment, drivers, carriers, service technicians etc.
- Leading the regional emergency response team and respond to emergencies in a timely manner.
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Linde’s equipment, located at Linde’s customer’s sites throughout QC.
- Work with distribution and customer service supervisor in scheduling people and operations within a union and non-union environment.
- Responsible for overseeing maintenance and repair planning, resource allocation, working with remote teams and personnel to meet designated time frames.
- Ensure reports maintain the integrity of the information contained within Customer Service’s Workorder Management System.
- Work the QA Department, identify and investigate QIR events. Implement and track any resulting improvements.
- Completing report for tracking project progress and reporting to stakeholders.
- Identifying repetitive failure trends and bringing forward proposals for improvement.
- Work with sales and clients to define and assess needs and recommend the appropriate equipment, including making site visits as required.
- Attends client project meetings as required.
- Develop relationships with customers.
- Manage maintenance tasks with project coordinators to ensure smooth running of day-to-day activities.
- College Diploma or University Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent.
- Preferred 3+ years of experience in a relevant industry/Customer Service/Transportation.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related role with operations accountabilities.
- Operational safety experience
- Accident / Root Cause Analysis experience
- Excellent time management and work prioritization skills with an ability to effectively manage multiple high impact priorities.
- A proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Six Sigma / LEAN process experience
- In-depth knowledge of TDG regulations and load standards and dimensions
- Knowledge of statistical tools.
- Practical understanding of engineering drawings.
- Ability to understand technical and manufacturer design specifications.
- Labour relation and personnel management experience
- Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to proficiently use e-mail, Microsoft Office 365, and Microsoft Project to communicate information effectively to management team.
- Ability to instill Safety policies and implement procedures in order to ensure a safe workplace.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and works well with teams.
- Professional, excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
