  • Managing insurance defence files through all stages of litigation, including carriage of bodily injury and MVA matters
  • Conducting discoveries, mediations, and chambers applications with a high degree of independence
  • Working closely with senior counsel on complex, high-exposure, or high-profile matters
  • Providing strategic advice to insurer clients and maintaining strong reporting and file management standards
  • Contributing to business development initiatives and supporting the continued growth of the practice
  • Meeting billable and non-billable expectations in a fast-paced, team-oriented defence practice
What will help you succeed in this role?The Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate will have:
  • 5+ years of post-call civil litigation experience, with demonstrated experience in bodily injury and MVA defence
  • Experience acting for insurers and insureds in a busy defence practice
  • Familiarity with Alberta Rules of Court and litigation procedures
  • Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills, paired with sound professional judgment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused and service-oriented approach
  • The ability to manage files independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
Experience with complex loss or coverage issues is considered an asset but is not required.
