
Project Accountant (Hybrid)

- Ensure accurate setup, budgeting, and closure of project accounts
- Analyze job margins, SG&A accounts, and over/under performance
- Prepare client cost reports and support month-end processes including accruals and revenue recognition
- Provide cost analysis and variance reporting to support forecasting
- Maintain organized work files and job rate tables
- Collaborate with project and operations teams to support financial planning
- Supervise and mentor finance personnel, including performance reviews and development plans
- Deliver ad hoc reports and accounting support as needed
- Manage change and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- 5-7 years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance
- Post-secondary diploma or certification (CPA designation preferred)
- Proven experience in job costing, financial analysis, and reporting
- Background in construction or manufacturing industries (preferred)
- Experience preparing financial statements
- Advanced Excel and proficiency in accounting software
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Experience supervising and mentoring staff
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
