The Hotel Sales Manager is a crucial member of The Drake Hotel team. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, the Hotel Sales Manager is responsible for acquiring and developing Corporate Accounts, Group Rooms & Event Sales, as well as developing beneficial relationships in the agency and Consortia sector. The successful candidate will execute on the implementation and coordination of the hotel’s sales strategies via lead generation, prospecting and procurement.Responsibilities
  • Establish a client base of key corporate accounts through active solicitation and qualifying and prospecting new business
  • Provide strategic, outbound and proactive sales and creating a sales-focused culture at the Drake Hotel properties by sharing best practices and peer to peer coaching
  • Create strategic sales plans in collaboration with the Director of Sales, Director of Marketing, and Director of Revenue
  • Prepare detailed, on brand sales presentations tailored to each lead or agency
  • Achieve and/or exceed quarterly financial goals in both rooms and events as they relate to the designated territory
  • Ensure monthly sales KPIs are met or exceeded, ensuring outbound client acquisition is effectively developing future base-of-business
  • Create remarkable client experiences, manage client expectations, and maintain a high level of client satisfaction representing The Drake with professionalism and integrity
  • Ensure all sales tools, distribution and subscription-based channels are executed with precise care and monitored frequently to ensure our positioning in travel agent/third party planner sector is strong and visible
  • Manage sales process effectively in TripleSeat including leads and associated tasks, group status reports and GRC tracking, all related financials + billing, BEOs/resumes and more
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of hotel inventory, event spaces, amenities, packages, inclusions, promotions + policies; as well as in-depth knowledge of all hotel F&B offerings, catering menus, bar and beverage offerings, venue pricing and configurations
  • Maintain lost business, conversion ratios, cancellation, and lead/referral files for effective reporting with Director of Sales
  • Lead in property wide sites inspections, and attend industry related networking opportunities
  • Promptly and professionally respond to guest requests and follow up to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Respond accurately to RFPs within 24 hours
  • Participate in weekly sales + revenue strategy sessions
Requirements
  • 3+ years of successful sales experience in hotel + events
  • Experience in consistently over-achieving targets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth knowledge of hotel/event-related technological platforms
  • Exceptional organizational, negotiation, and guest services skills
  • Acute attention to detail, time management and follow-up
  • Autonomous self-starter and team-oriented collaboration skills
