- Lead the development of Engineering Scopes of Work, coordinating with internal engineering teams and external consultants as required.
- Provide necessary inputs to Project Services to facilitate the tendering of Engineering Design Packages.
- Manage awarded Engineering Work Packages, reporting on cost, schedule, and quality performance, and assisting in the resolution of technical issues or conflicts.
- Review and validate the work performed and methods used by engineering staff to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate the overall design effort to resolve bottlenecks and ensure timely delivery of engineering outputs.
- Review, approve, or provide feedback on consultant trend notices and design change requests.
- Provide inputs to Project Services for the tendering of Construction Work Packages.
- Leading Early Contractor Involvement and scope pre-planning in advance of construction. Supporting Construction Managers in resolving technical issues or conflicts during construction.
- Review and approve field-initiated design changes, ensuring work conforms with regulatory, environmental, and community commitments.
- Monitor field installation activities, providing guidance on technical requirements and ensuring contractor work aligns with project standards.
- Manage the handover of Commissioning Work Packages, supporting the Commissioning team to deliver packages to operations effectively.
- Ensure the application of VDC/BIM methodologies in alignment with business and technology objectives where applicable.
- Update the Project Management Plan (PMP) to reflect new work packages or significant changes to ongoing engineering and construction work.
- Assist in implementing project document control processes and maintain accurate records of all activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate a company vehicle under company insurance.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in mining project development, coordinating both design and field installation activities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong relationship-building skills, including empathy, emotional intelligence, and cross-cultural effectiveness; able to achieve consensus and foster alignment collaboratively.
- High standards of professional and ethical conduct, with a commitment to maintaining a positive safety and quality culture.
- Proven analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex problems and implement effective solutions.
- Leadership capabilities required to manage, mentor, and develop project teams.
- Well-developed organizational and project management competencies to keep multiple projects, processes, and engineering/construction teams on track.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to multitask and perform effectively in timeline-driven environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to simplify and convey complex technical topics to a broad audience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
