- Ensure full compliance with CBSA regulations, the Customs Act, CARM, and international trade agreements
- Maintain and renew the company's Customs Brokerage License and act as the licensed officer
- Oversee classification, valuation, origin, duty/tax assessments, and special import/export requirements
- Lead and mentor a team of customs professionals, fostering a culture of compliance and service excellence
- Develop and implement SOPs for customs clearance and brokerage operations
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver integrated logistics solutions
- Manage brokerage P&L, budgets, and performance metrics
- Recommend and implement technology solutions to improve efficiency and scalability
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and act as a subject-matter expert
- Represent the company at industry events and with regulatory bodies
- Licensed Customs Broker in Canada (mandatory)
- 7-10 years of experience in customs brokerage, trade compliance, or international logistics
- 3+ years in a leadership or management role
- Strong knowledge of Canadian customs regulations, tariff classification, valuation, origin, and CARM
- Proven business development and client relationship skills
- Proficiency in customs brokerage software (e.g., CDS, Cargowise, Descartes) and MS Office
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset
