Job Description :Mechanical Estimator - Plumbing - (Full-Time)Partner Staffing is the "go to recruiter" for difficult, important, and time-sensitive positions in Western Canada. We work with proactive clients who understand the importance of having exceptional staff.Partner Staffing on behalf of our Client, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their Calgary office. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong background in building mechanical systems design and project delivery across commercial, institutional, and healthcare sectors specializing in Plumbing. The successful candidate will manage multi-disciplinary project teams, liaise directly with clients, and ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest technical standards.We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Estimator to join a team of experienced construction professionals. The successful candidate will bring a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and an entrepreneurial mindset to each project.RequirementsRoles and ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the full estimating cycle, including tender submissions, conceptual estimates, and pre-construction schedules for Project Manager reviewPrepare lump-sum estimates for materials, labor, subcontractors, and equipment based on contract bids, drawings, specifications, and quotationsComplete quantity surveys, unit pricing, general conditions costs, overhead application, and proposal terms and conditionsCollaborate with Project Managers to develop bid strategies and estimating approachesProvide mentorship and guidance to assigned personnel involved in estimate preparation and revisionsReview bid packages, drawings, and specifications for completeness and accuracyPerform detailed quantity take-offs for materials and suppliesVerify take-offs for mathematical and technical accuracyLiaise with suppliers and obtain pricing quotationsAttend pre-bid meetings as requiredPrepare final cost estimates, including overhead and profit adjustmentsPresent completed bid packages in accordance with client specificationsReview and incorporate addendums into tender submissionsTrack actual project costs against estimates and identify opportunities for process improvementPerform other related duties as requiredSkills and AbilitiesStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsProfessional, approachable, and customer-service orientedHigh attention to detail and accuracyStrong work ethic with a positive, team-focused attitudeEffective verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Project)Experience with estimating and construction software is considered an asset (e.g., Accubid, QuickPen, Pro core)Experience and EducationMinimum of five (5) years of relevant experience with a proven track record in the local marketPost-secondary degree, diploma, and/or valid Journey person certification in the mechanical fieldThorough understanding of local construction associations and related documentationStrong knowledge of construction systemsAdditional RequirementsTravel may be requiredPosition may require time spent on active job sitesBenefitsWhat’s OfferedCompetitive salaryMinimum of three (3) weeks paid vacationComprehensive benefits packageRRSP matching programProfessional development and training opportunitiesHealth and wellness initiativesInclusive and collaborative work environmentCompany events and team-building activitiesBenefitsSuccess in this role is defined by delivering mechanical sheet metal projects safely, on time, and within budget.This requires strong attention to detail, clear communication with field teams, clients, and suppliers, and the ability to anticipate and resolve issues efficiently.
