Job Description:We are looking for a dedicated Director/Manager of Financial Reporting to lead the preparation and review of internal and external financial reports in compliance with industry standards. This role is integral to ensuring accurate and timely financial disclosures, guiding technical accounting practices, and collaborating with auditors. The ideal candidate will also drive improvements in processes and policies to maintain the highest standards of financial reporting.Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, ensuring full compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Analyze and review financial disclosures to meet regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Lead the establishment and maintenance of company accounting policies, ensuring alignment with current standards and evaluating their impacts.
  • Manage month-end and quarter-end close processes to deliver accurate and timely financial reports.
  • Direct the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes to support strategic planning.
  • Prepare and present financial data to senior leadership, the board of directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide expert technical accounting guidance for complex issues, such as revenue recognition and asset impairments.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during interim reviews and year-end audits to ensure smooth processes.
  • Develop and enhance processes and controls to maintain the quality and integrity of financial reporting.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure transparency and alignment in financial operations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or equivalent certification is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or auditing, with exposure to relevant accounting standards.
  • Strong expertise in accounting principles and technical accounting research.
  • Proficient in using accounting and financial reporting systems, such as ERP and BlackLine.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of simplifying complex accounting concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams, processes, or projects.
  • Familiarity with project environments and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
This west end role requires three days on site and has great, collaborative boss who is not a micro-manager. Very good opportunity to grow with a growing organization. Project accounting experience is very beneficial.
