- Provides task, organizational and reporting support to Ship delivery with the emphasis on Classification Society and Regulatory compliance, safety case, requirements and OQE, risk management, design reviews and customer interfacing.
- To prepare briefing reports to PMO and the customer.
- To be aware of and report to the Manager Ship Delivery the status of classification design appraisal and ship acceptance into Class.
- To support the Manager Ship Delivery Support and In-Service Support as required.
- Engage with functional engineers, Test and Trials (T&T), Quality, and liaise with Class to address and resolve any outstanding design and build comments, preventing delays and ensuring alignment with specifications.
- Lead the development and implementation of a JIRA-based final vessel certification tracker to streamline the management of certification requirements for sea trials and delivery. Ensure clear task ownership, real-time progress tracking, and effective resolution of certification-related issues, enhancing efficiency and compliance throughout the process.
- Support engineering with ship design safety review as required by Manager Ship Delivery.
- Support Project Engineering and Ship Acceptance for any pending documents/certification/regulatory compliance post-delivery.
- support with implementation and update of Professional Practice Management Plan.
- Degree or diploma in engineering.
- 5+ years' post-secondary experience working in the marine sector or relevant engineering discipline, on complex highly integrated engineering projects.
- Systems safety engineering experience is desirable.
- 3 years' experience working on projects involving diverse stakeholders.
- Professional Engineer or Technologist status in BC or the ability to achieve this within 12 months is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to resolve technical and programmatic
- Ability analyze/synthesize data, confirming its accuracy and adequacy as an integral part of the collective analysis/synthesis process.
- Strong technical writing skills including the ability to produce and present clear, detailed written information.
- Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment, multi-task and establish priorities.
- Availability and willingness for travel.
- Committed to a high standard of safety and able to comply with all safety laws and all the employer's safety policies and rules.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Exercise sound judgments and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
- PC proficiency required. Working knowledge of basic Microsoft Office 2010 software suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
