- Develop and maintain a range of technical documentation, including operation, maintenance, and illustrated parts manuals, in accordance with customer, defence, and company standards (e.g., S1000D).
- Translate engineering drawings, specifications, and design data into clear and accurate written content suitable for both technical and end-user audiences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Functional Engineering, Configuration Management, Program Management Office, and Supply Chain, to gather source data and verify technical accuracy.
- Ensure compliance of all deliverables with defence documentation requirements, classification society regulations, and internal quality management systems.
- Utilize authoring and content management tools, including Hico IPS Suite, R4i, Arbortext, Adobe FrameMaker, XML editors, and related software to create, update, and publish structured documentation efficiently.
- Perform validation activities, including peer reviews, content verification, and publication quality checks, to ensure completeness and compliance prior to delivery.
- Maintain version control and manage configuration changes to technical documentation throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of documentation standards, templates, and authoring processes in alignment with evolving industry practices.
- Support the Supervisor, Technical Publications in developing schedules, reporting progress, and ensuring milestones are met.
- Assist with internal and external audits related to documentation quality and compliance.
- Perform additional duties as required by the Supervisor, Training or ILS Manager.
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, Communications, English, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience developing technical documentation, preferably within a defence, maritime, or heavy engineering environment.
- Experience with S1000D or equivalent structured documentation standard
- Familiarity with defence/shipbuilding industry standards and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) frameworks is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and translate engineering drawings, data, and specifications into accurate documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, Communications, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience developing technical documentation, preferably within a defence, maritime, or heavy engineering environment.
- Experience with S1000D or equivalent structured documentation standard
- Familiarity with defence/shipbuilding industry standards and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) frameworks is an asset.

- Strong understanding of S1000D, MIL-STD, or DEF STAN documentation frameworks.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Solid organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple deliverables under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a focus on precision and readability.
