Job Code: 23369Status: Temporary Part Time (up to 4 months)Location: Providence Care HospitalUnion: OPSEU 4104 Service ClericalWage: $17.60/hrPosting Period: April 15, 2026 - April 24, 2026As a member of the Research team, the Research Assistant assists in the coordination and implementation of research activities under the under the direction of a study Principal Investigator and Research Manager as per research protocols. Depending on the stage of the research study assigned, the position responsibilities may include any of the below.Education and Experience:
  • Currently enrolled in an educational institutions (e.g. high school, college or University)
Position Responsibilities:
  • Assists in the preparation and submission of research proposals for approval of the Research Ethics Board
  • Assists with research project design and implementation including reviewing protocols, data collection and analysis, generating a variety of reports
  • Enters, retrieves and downloads data to generate a variety of reports; monitors and reports trends for various indicators
  • Contacts and screens patients, administering research instruments; provides follow up data to researchers, interviews patients, family members and significant others and responds to patient queries and/or concerns
  • Prepares oral and written reports, publications and presentations and reports findings to clinical teams and managers
  • Conducts ongoing literature reviews on pertinent topics to keep abreast of the treatment of serious and persistent illness, technology, research issues and program evaluation techniques
