General Manager, Mountain OperationsRevelstoke Mountain ResortLocation: Revelstoke, British Columbia | Reports to: President, Revelstoke Mountain ResortPosition SummaryThe General Manager, Mountain Operations is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and strategic direction of Revelstoke Mountain Resort’s mountain operations. This role leads the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of all on-mountain experiences across winter and summer operations, while ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance, and a culture of accountability, collaboration, operational excellence and meaningful guest engagement.As a key member of the resort’s executive leadership team, the General Manager plays a critical role in shaping and executing the resort’s operating strategy and growth agenda. This leader is accountable for the performance of all mountain-based operations and works in close partnership with leaders across lodging, food and beverage, events, and village services to deliver a seamless and compelling end-to-end resort experience.This is an exceptional opportunity for a proven mountain resort leader to join a high-growth destination resort with ambitious plans for continued investment, operational evolution, and guest experience enhancement over the coming decade.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership
  • Provide overall leadership for year-round mountain operations, including lift operations, ski patrol, grooming, snowmaking, guest services, equipment rentals, and retail.
  • Ensure all operations are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard of quality and guest service.
  • Lead seasonal operating plans for peak and off-peak periods, ensuring operational readiness, service consistency, and effective resource allocation.
  • Establish and maintain clear operating standards, performance expectations, and accountability across all mountain departments.
  • With the Exec team, drive a fun and activation focused guest and team member experience across the resort.
  • Drive continuous improvement in service delivery, operating efficiency, and executional excellence.
Leadership and Team Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of department leaders and frontline teams across mountain operations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, engagement, and performance.
  • Oversee organizational planning, workforce planning, seasonal staffing strategies, and talent development across the operation.
  • Build leadership capability and bench strength to support current operations and future growth.
  • Maintain a visible leadership presence across the resort, particularly during peak operating periods.
Financial and Commercial Performance
  • Own the operating budget, forecasting process, maintenance Capex and overall financial performance of mountain operations.
  • Identify and execute initiatives that drive revenue growth, improve operating efficiency, and support long-term profitability.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and operating results, and make timely adjustments to achieve business objectives.
  • Partner with executive leadership on annual planning, business reviews, and strategic decision-making.
Guest Experience and Community Relations
  • Champion an exceptional guest experience across all mountain touchpoints and operating seasons.
  • Use guest feedback, operational insights, and service standards to drive continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with resort leaders across hospitality, food and beverage, lodging, events, and village services to ensure an integrated resort experience.
  • Maintain strong relationships with guests, partners, and the local community, representing the resort with professionalism and credibility.
Safety, Risk, and Compliance
  • Lead and reinforce a strong safety culture across all areas of mountain operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, environmental, and industry requirements.
  • Oversee risk management, emergency preparedness, incident response planning and with the PR team a communications plan.
  • Ensure safety systems, training, and operational protocols are current, effective, and consistently applied.
Strategic Planning and Growth
  • Contribute to the long-term vision, operating strategy, and growth plans for Revelstoke Mountain Resort.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance operations, elevate the guest experience, and improve the resort’s competitive position.
  • Lead and support strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and infrastructure planning.
  • Serve as a key stakeholder in the planning and implementation of maintenance capital and growth capital projects across mountain operations.
  • Prepare maintenance capital plans, oversee approved investments, and support the successful execution of major capital initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
  • 10+ years of progressive senior leadership experience in ski resort, mountain resort, or comparable hospitality and recreation operations.
  • Direct experience leading mountain operations or major operating functions within a complex, guest-facing, high-volume environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading large, multi-disciplinary teams in a seasonal and operationally demanding business.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and performance management.
  • Strong knowledge of ski resort operations, including lift operations, ski patrol, grooming, snowmaking, and guest services.
  • Experience leading capital projects, infrastructure improvements, or major operational expansions is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with disciplined operational execution.
  • Comfortable working on site in a fast-paced resort environment, including weekends and holidays during peak operating periods.

Wok Environment
  • Based on site at Revelstoke Mountain Resort in Revelstoke, British Columbia.
  • Active leadership presence required across indoor and outdoor resort environments in varying weather and mountain conditions.
  • Role requires flexibility and visibility during peak seasonal periods, including weekends and holidays.
Compensation and Benefits$110,000 - $150,000 annually plus incentive bonus eligibility. Relocation assistance will be considered.All positions are eligible for the following benefits and perks:
