Our client is a parent company offering shared services to two smaller entities within the industrial construction space. The ideal person for this role will have a passion for and experience working within the privately owned, small- medium enterprise space in Canada. Our client is in an aggressive growth mode and has current operations in both Canada and the US.Responsibilities
- Produce financial statements, year-end schedules, and assist with budgeting.
- Perform variance analysis against budget and prior results.
- Oversee and optimize month-end close activities.
- Maintain the general ledger and complete monthly reconciliations.
- Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, deferrals, depreciation).
- Administer payroll, including remittances, T4s, and employee support.
- Evaluate cost trends and recommend efficiencies.
- Manage cash disbursements and perform account reconciliations.
- Provide support on additional finance-related tasks as needed.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation or in progress.
- 4–6 years of full-cycle accounting experience.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel (Dynamics GP considered an asset).
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Effective communicator with a collaborative approach.
- Organized, hands-on, and able to take ownership of processes.
