Our Vancouver based client is seeking an Senior SAP Finance (FI) Accountant to join their project immediately on a 18 month employment contract, with possibility of an extension. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of progressive high-level accounting experience in financial reporting, general ledger, cost accounting, internal controls, audit, or tax. This will be a hybrid role with the exact amount of on-site scheduled days to be confirmed.Key Responsibilities:

Ability to independently interpret financial data and accurately apply accounting logic in a system and data migration environment.
Provide accounting input into Business Process Documents (BPDs), functional specifications, and testing scenarios.
Review Chart of Accounts, Cost Centers, Profit Centers, and related master data and transactional data for financial integrity.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting data throughout the migration lifecycle.
Identify legacy data sources, including key tables and fields, for data objects in scope.
Assist with data extraction coordination, helping identify what data is needed from legacy systems.
Execute pre-load and post-load validations during mock and real data loads and help log defects.
Participate in data mapping sessions, offering business logic to guide how legacy data translates to SAP.
Public accounting experience preferred; CPA designation is a plus.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
