Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?As an Underwriter/Originator, Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS), you will manage end-to-end CMBS transactions. You are responsible for originating and underwriting transactions for income-producing commercial properties, through to funding and securitization and contribute to a differentiated client experience by offering solutions to meet client’s business and financial goals.What will you do?Originate and underwrite income-producing commercial properties with a CMBS/Capital Markets perspective for ultimate securitizationBuild and maintain relationships with internal partners, rating agencies and industry partnersRe-underwrite commercial mortgages on RBC’s balance sheet for contribution to securitization poolsContribute to initiatives to launch/improve the commercial mortgage securitization processParticipate in industry events to keep current on real estate market trendsWhat do you need to succeed?Must-have:3+ years of experience in commercial mortgages (underwriting, documentation, servicing or securitization)Understanding and knowledge of commercial real estate markets, including multiple property types and CMBS requirementsStrong attention to detail, financial and analytical skillsAbility to build relationships and work well with internal and external partnersDemonstrated initiative and problem-solving skillsNice to have:Advanced Microsoft Excel skillsCommercial real estate cash flow modeling experienceWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
