
Credit Underwriter, Income Producing Properties, National Industry Programs

- Conduct detailed credit analysis for existing commercial loans, including annual reviews and renewals.
- Prepare comprehensive credit submissions for Risk Management, ensuring accuracy and alignment with CIBC’s risk appetite and guidelines.
- Perform sensitivity and scenario analysis to assess potential risks and outcomes.
- Proactively monitor assigned loan portfolios to identify loans requiring review or renewal.
- Ensure all due diligence and documentation are collected and analyzed in accordance with credit agreements.
- Assess and manage risk in line with established guidelines, escalating issues as appropriate.
- Liaise with Relationship Managers, Risk Management, and other internal partners to facilitate the completion of credit reviews and renewals.
- Provide expertise and support to front-line teams, contributing to the overall success of National Industry Programs and Commercial Banking.
- Ensure all credit submissions and portfolio activities comply with CIBC and industry policies, guidelines, and controls.
- Participate in ongoing governance and reporting activities as required.
- Identify opportunities to enhance underwriting processes, tools, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in commercial credit underwriting.
- You have experience in commercial credit underwriting, portfolio management, or related financial analysis roles (approximately 2-3 years).
- You have a degree in business, finance, real estate, or a related field.
- You have a strong understanding of credit risk assessment, deal structuring, and regulatory frameworks in commercial lending.
- You have a proven ability to analyze complex financial information and communicate findings effectively.
- You have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities.
