Thunder Bay, ON | Full-Time, Salary + BonusSalary: $90,000 – $100,000 + full company benefits (medical, dental, vision, vacation, defined benefit pension with CAAT)About the RoleThunder Bay Pulp & Paper (TBPP) is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to provide supervision and direction to unionized mill maintenance personnel and external contractors. You will work to maximize production quality and equipment uptime while minimizing maintenance costs and unscheduled downtime. This is an ideal role for a leader with a passion for operational excellence, continuous improvement, and team development.Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the facility operates in full compliance with health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations
- Lead, mentor, and coach a unionized maintenance team to optimize productivity and adherence to company policies
- Coordinate scheduled, routine, and preventative mechanical maintenance functions
- Work closely with operations and planners to complete maintenance tasks efficiently
- Promote continuous improvement across health & safety, efficiency, production, and maintenance cost metrics
- Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback and guidance
- Red Seal trade certificate, diploma, degree in Mechanical Engineering, or at least 2 years supervising trades in a unionized industrial environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, coach, and integrate feedback
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills, including planning, prioritizing, and delegating work
- Proficient in MS Office and experience using a CMMS
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Lead a critical maintenance team in a landmark pulp and paper operation
