
Payroll Specialist

- Process bi-weekly payroll for Canadian and U.S. employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, provincial, and state regulations.
- Review and validate employee timecards, attendance records, and salary data to maintain payroll accuracy.
- Administer benefits programs, including 401K and RRSP contributions, and reconcile payroll entries related to these programs.
- Handle vacation, sick leave, and other leave calculations, ensuring proper tracking and reporting.
- Collaborate with the HR team to address payroll discrepancies and answer employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.
- Perform audits on payroll procedures and records to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Maintain and update payroll systems, including ADP Workforce Now, and ensure timely system adjustments as needed.
- Manage payment schedules and calendars for the fiscal year, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Generate payroll-related reports and provide insights to support financial and HR decision-making.
- Stay updated on changes to payroll laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, with a strong foundation in Canadian payroll practices.
- Proficiency with payroll software, particularly ADP Workforce Now, is required.
- Familiarity with U.S. payroll processing and related regulations is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of benefits administration, including 401K and RRSP plans.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with HR and address employee inquiries.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct audits and ensure compliance with payroll policies and regulations.
