Salary: $18.00/hr*The successful candidate's schedule will be 20 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 9:00am - 2:00pm & some Fridays.You can make an impact in the community - locally and across the globe. · Awareness of and empathy for issues relevant to new Canadians
· Effective organizational and administrative skills
· Current knowledge of LINC curriculum and resources is an asset
· CLB knowledge an asset
· Excellent communication skills
· Awareness of and empathy for issues facing new Canadians
· Computer skills in data base management
· Committed to providing quality service to program participants and the YMCA
· Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider. Asset if certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations: Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St John's Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski Patrol.
· Able to produce evidence of a clear security clearanceWhat does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?The LINC Administrative Assistant will:· Maintain accurate individual student records
· Assist with YMCA and Federal government databases
· Keep ILVARC (Immigrant Language Vocational Assessment and Referral Centre) informed of seat availability on a weekly basis
· Manage inventory of current teaching resources
· Create letters for students (attendance, personal requests, etc.)
· Posting resources for staff on YConnect (YMCA's internal Website)
· Assist in the coordination of field trips, guest speakers and computer lab usage
· Assist with evaluating students on a regular basis, and assist with EXIT testing to determine LINC level
