- Completion of an accredited degree/post diploma Nuclear Medicine Technology program, or recognized equivalent.
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation & Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
- Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) program.
- Current registration with Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of diagnostic equipment and problem solving skills relating to equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of positioning protocols and standards.
- Demonstrated ability to perform a range of diagnostic tests and procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control Practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge of governmental regulatory standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge of radiation safety, protocols and protection regulations pertaining to nuclear substances and devices.
- Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to organize and prioritize workload as required.
- Demonstrated commitment to the safety of co-workers and patients.

- Perform the full range of diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine and molecular imaging procedures (i.e., nuclear medicine, nuclear cardiology, Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT/CT) systems, and PET/CT.
- Provide safe and timely services while maximizing the potential of the equipment.
- Obtain informed consent and verify patient history and information.
- Maintain records and documentation according to department policy and procedures.
- Coordinate daily work schedule, prioritize emergency and add on cases as required.
- Perform all procedures in accordance with radiation safety practices, applicable legislation, clinical standards, and departmental policies and procedures to ensure personnel and patient safety.
- Prepare radiopharmaceuticals required for daily examinations.
- Administer radioisotopes to patients as required.
- Adhere to the Standards of Practice as outlined by the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario.
- Working knowledge of Safety Code 35 and RHPA.
- Troubleshoot equipment and/or procedure issues and contact appropriate service provider.
- Perform Radiopharmacy and Quality Control Procedures in the department.
- Maintain all records required by the CNSC and other legislative agencies.
- Collaborate effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Evaluate patient care and satisfaction on an ongoing basis and formulate solutions for improvement.
- Participate in education and training specific to current, relevant federal and provincial health and safety legislation, standards and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as required.
