- Leads and executes the payroll optimization project, transitioning from on-premise SAP to cloud-based Employee Central Payroll. This role collaborates with business, technical, and external partners to ensure effective project delivery, governance, stakeholder engagement, and risk management. Oversees payroll process readiness and execution for SAP ECP transformation in Canada, ensuring compliance with regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
- The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a transformation initiative from SAP to cloud-based ECP.
- Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Work in collaboration with the business and technical stakeholders, project managers ensuring strategic alignment to the Bank’s objectives
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert for Payroll and oversee the payroll system implementation including configuration design, testing plan and execution, business process optimization, training plan and integrations.
- Leads the redesign of payroll and HR operations processes to align with SAP ECP capabilities by ensuring readiness in payroll processing, employee lifecycle events, and data governance, while proactively identifying and mitigating process gaps, inefficiencies, and risks
- Supports the Change and Communications teams to deliver targeted engagement strategies, comprehensive training programs, and ongoing adoption tracking, to equip teams and employees with the knowledge, confidence, and support needed for sustained readiness and continuous improvement pre and post-implementation.
- Supports the development of robust controls, governance routines, escalation frameworks, and audit-ready processes across payroll and HR, while providing ongoing updates to senior leadership stakeholders.
- Leads the delivery of a proper handover of deliverables and knowledge transfer to the Payroll solutions team and relevant stakeholders post implementation
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with client’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
- Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.
- 3+ years of experience leading transformational program
- 8-10 years of experience in leading Payroll and HR operations (Deep understanding of end-to-end HR and payroll operations)
- Ability to translate strategy into operational delivery
- 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional teams and complex dependencies
- MS project experience
- PCP or PLP designation preferred
- Large-scale payroll or ERP transformation (SAP preferred)
- Strong program leadership and execution mindset
- Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills
- Strong risk management, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Undergraduate degree, preferably with focus on business, HR, Finance, or related field. Post. Post-secondary or relevant graduate degree is an asset
- The ideal candidate would have strong payroll or ERP transformation experience, specifically using SAP.

- 2nd – VP – 1 hr – in-person
