We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and ready to engage in providing our clients high-quality products while learning and growing both as an individual and as part of a team.As an Intermediate Hydrogeologist, you would manage and be involved in a variety of projects related to hydrogeologic assessment, groundwater supply development, and groundwater protection and management. Your expertise will contribute to diverse initiatives that protect and enhance our most precious resource—water.Your Key ResponsibilitiesFollow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe mannerPerform field investigations in support of hydrogeological studies including drilling, well construction and testing oversight; groundwater sampling; and water level monitoringProduce geological cross-sections and groundwater contour maps.Interpret aquifer tests, characterize aquifers based on maps and other spatial data, and perform spatial analysis using GIS toolsInterpret analytical laboratory resultsDevelop conceptual and analytical hydrogeologic modelsPerform data analysis and data visualization utilizing GIS, Surfer, Leapfrog, or other three-dimensional data-visualization softwareManage and/or develop numerical groundwater models using industry-standard modelling platforms such as MODFLOW or FEFLOWPrepare technical reports documenting field investigations and analytical resultsPrepare and deliver presentations of hydrogeologic investigations internally and to external clientsDevelop project budgets, determine project scope, and establish project schedulesTravel as required to various field sites with overnight travel sometimes requiredContribute to business development activities, including proposals, pre-qualifications, and relationship building with clients and prospective clientsProvide supervision, training, technical direction and mentoring to more junior staffYour Capabilities and CredentialsAbility to meet demand for high-quality, organized, and consistent resultsConfident individual who demonstrates strong initiative and is capable of independent action with the ability to make informed decisionsTime management skills that include balancing immediate and long-term work commitments with varying priorities and deadlinesValid driver’s license is required for business travelExcellent communication skills, including verbal, technical writing, electronic communications, and presentationsExperience with hydrogeological characterization work including aquifer test design, analysis and technical report writingWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with hydrogeological modeling software such as MODFLOW, FEFLOW, and/or AQTESOLV is an assetProficient skills in communication and technical information exchange with clients, engineers and scientists, government regulators and agencies, and academia, as well as non-technical communication to the publicAbility to provide written and verbal direction on project deliveryShow leadership in striving to continuously improve technical performanceChampion new ideas and initiatives, while creating an environment that supports creativity and innovationBuild and maintain productive professional and personal networking relationshipsEducation and ExperienceMinimum of a bachelor’s degree specializing in groundwater from a Hydrogeology, Geoscience, or Engineering program5 - 10 years of working experience in consulting or regulatory environment, regularly using and analyzing hydrogeologic dataExisting professional registration (P.Geo. or P.Eng.)Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
