  • Provide underwriting exceptions to specialty line guidelines when necessary while maintaining a profitable portfolio
  • Revising existing underwriting guidelines and/or establishing new underwriting guideline while ensuring its within the organization's risk appetite
  • Conduct audits and generate audit reports
  • Maintain in-force policies and ensure all policies are issued within service standards with the appropriate wordings, schedules, and certificates attached
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationship with MGAs by providing exceptional customer service
  • Provide exceptional customer service by answering telephone inquiries, making outgoing calls, respond to emails and/or faxes as may be required
  • Track and produce daily, weekly and monthly production activity reports
  • Assist in monthly business activity reporting
Who You Are
  • Post-secondary education in a related field and/or a CIP designation is required. Working towards FCIP or CRM designation is an asset.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in commercial lines underwriting
  • Experience with casualty underwriting an asset
  • Strong product knowledge and thorough understanding of insurance policy wordings with the ability to make sound business decisions based on those wordings
  • Excellent analytical skills and decision-making skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to establish professional relationships
