Position Summary:The Sales Representative is responsible for managing all aspects of the sales function within a specified geographic territory for independent and chain customers. S/he will manage all customer inquiries, while developing/growing existing business and prospecting new customers for the assigned territory.Key Accountabilities:
  • Develop daily schedule for customer visits to ensure efficiency and objectives are achieved; manage a weekly schedule to ensure full assigned territory (Central Montreal) coverage and support for National and Independent Retail Banners and ensure objectives are efficiently achieved
  • Responsible for achieving and exceeding gross margin and volume targets as assigned.
  • Develop and grow the business through new business development.
  • Actively manage territory profitability and gross margin and develop necessary plans and corrective action to meet target profitability of territory and customer base
  • Develop plans and reports to measure gain / loss in accounts with initiatives towards acquiring new or growing business
  • Maintain a high level of competitor and marketplace knowledge including products, pricing, discounts, promotions and sales level
  • Prepare and present business reviews to customers and internal stakeholders, as required.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Communicate internally among Sofina Sales team, finance, operations, customer service and distribution departments to maximize opportunities.
  • Organizes demos for existing and potential customers, advises customers on presentation of products - promotional materials, product visibility, POS and enforce distribution/stock rotation.
  • Participates in sales meetings to obtain information on sales objectives, promotional actions, new products, field problems, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned if not in contradiction with this role profile
Requirements:
  • Min 2-3 years Retail or Foodservice sales or merchandising experience in food industry
  • College or University degree is desirable.
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle,
  • Ability to travel to customers daily basis
  • Strong negotiation and communications skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on achieving sales targets.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
